I am also Trini living away for the last 35 years, and enjoyed reading some of your recipes. Reminded me of my childhood days in TT and the foods we had growing up. Will be trying some of these recipes. Thanks. keep up the good work.  Sam:  February 6, 2012

I just love looking at our Trini recipes and trying them. I stumbled upon your site and enjoyed reading about you, your family and of course, the recipes. One of the recipes I recently made was Nut Cake, remember that? My American husband just loves my Trini foods. Maybe, I'll start a blog in my spare time, since I have a huge collection of Trini recipies. Let me know if you're looking for anything. I'd love to pass it along. Good luck with the site, hope to hear from you.  Margaret:  November 30, 2011

I stumbled on your "Wha to cook" site looking for a cheese paste recipe of all things, lol. I just wanted to say that I liked your 3 sites, particularly the weight loss site  which I found touching and inspirational, even though I am not on a weight loss journey. I especially liked your story, your daughter's and Jemema's: all very heartfelt. Just wanted to say keep up the good work - you gave me a smile by stumbling on your site and I wish you one in return.   Asha:  September 3, 2011

"Hi - I have a new SBI site - www.anitas-easy-vegetarian-recipes.com - it's all about cooking with vegetables, growing your own with a big emphasis on homemade soup! could it please be listed under food? Just having a look around your site - it looks really good! I am just writing a page about chutney and struggling for good keywords, esp for the tier 2 which will connect all the tier 3s!" I found this back link to my site with the following comment:
This morning I found the perfect website for amazing homemade recipes from Trinidad and Tobago. It's basically food from the Caribbean. The woman who runs the websites gives us easy and simple recipes for all types of meals ranging from bakes and bread, soups, seafood, vegetarian, non vegetarian, beverages and desserts. It is a really nice informative website. If you love cooking and want to try some new types of recipes for your family or even your self definitely click on the bold heading above this to be redirected to the the website. She even gives you a step by step picture guide on how it is suppose to come out! So get those pots and pans out and start cooking some good trinidadian food!

"I am in the process of teaching my children how to cook things that I learned from my Trini Mom, who has since pass away. But i am cooking from memory. Further more there was a lot of dishes that I have seen in your cookbook that I have only heard about but never had the pleasure of preparing for my family. I am so greatful that u have produced this option and shared it with us. I vacationed with Martina (the webmaster of this site) as a child. Tanty Pearl is my second mom.She is a great cook also.(U lick your fingers after one of her meals). So I am very greatful. Thank You! My friends in New York will benefit from this also. God Bless! and keep up the great work! We will al continue to enjoy thanks to your efforts." Levita

"After reading your food blog, I'm ready to buy a ticket, get on a plane and go to Trinidad. It has been years (and I mean a lot of years) since I've had sorrel. My grandmother used to make it and I haven't had any since she passed many years ago. Your blog was like taking a trip down memory lane. " Felicia author of No Job For Mom

Retire To Something

"I love your website. I actually came upon it by accident but will be visiting on a regular basis for 'help'. I was born in Trinidad but grew up in New York. I am 28 years of age and my cooking skills are really that of a beginner. I basically cook what has been cooked already...lol. Put me in a kitchen with foods that are not pre-packaged and I will be lost. I have a 3yr old son who really doesn't know his trini side and I would love for him to get to know some more about what I grew up on. His favorite food is spaghetti and mine was pelau which I know nothing about making. I'm hoping to master the arts for home cooking especially when it comes to trinidadian cuisine and would love to introduce my boyfriend to more than just the occasional store bought chicken roti. Keep up the great job and congratulations on following your passion." Jamie.
