Sadha Roti
I got this recipe from my dearest friend of many years. I am so happy to be able to include her in my projects.
She is a great cook! Sadha Roti is very simple and is mostly made for breakfast.
Ingredients
4 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Water to knead
Method
Mix flour, baking powder and salt Add enough water to make to smooth dough, knead well Cover with damp towel and
leave for 1/2 hour Divide dough into eight and shape them into balls Roll dough out on a floured surface to 1/2" thick and about 8" round
Cook on tawa turning on either side until light brown in colour or until swells. Roll edges on tawa. I don't have a
tawa so I used my very wide cast iron frying pan that did the trick very well.
Sadha roti can be served, with cheese, especially if it is still hot. The day that I prepared for this page,
I boiled about 6 eggs, roasted one sliced onion and one sliced sweet pepper. I mixed everything together and added some salt and pepper.
It can also be served with Avacado Choka, or Saltfish Buljol.
