Pacific Northwest Coastline

We live by the ocean on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington, USA. The Peninsula is 28 miles long and except for a few protected areas (clam beds, shoreline bird nesting areas) it is drivable by car as it is flat. The waters are not for swimming in as they are too cold as well as too dangerous due to rip tides; but hearing the waves crashing from our backyard is still very relaxing. We love beachcombing for sand dollars, starfish, floats and watching all the birds (bald eagles, brown pelican, egrets) visit each season.

Full Moon Waves
by: Anonymous

This reminds me of when I used to live in an apartment at Josiah's Bay, East End, Tortola BVI. The apartment building was not directly on the beach but it was close enough and every full moon I could hear the waves splashing against the mountain sides. I use to tell my kids about it when they were living in another country from me.

Eventually they migrated to the BVI and heard the waves and THEN they believed me!!!

Nothing is more relaxing than sitting at your home and listening to the soothing sounds of the waves.
