Lime Juice

Lime Juice is an economical beverage that I make for my family. My mother has a lime tree in the back of her yard. So all we have to do is to pick some limes and make a jug of lime juice. Lime Juice is so refreshing and it is cleansing too!!

1 medium size limes
6 large spoons of brown sugar or granulated sugar
8 cups of water
4 drops of Angostura Bitters

Put 8 cups of water in a jug. Cut each lime in half. Place a strainer over the top of the jug and squeeze the limes into the strainer. When I was preparing this particular jug of Lime Juice in preparation of this page, I realized that the limes were seedless. I never encountered seedless limes before.

After squeezing all the limes, remove strainer and throw out the seeds. Sweeten the lime juice. If you are using granulated sugar, you may have to use less because the granulated sugar is sweeter than the brown sugar. Add the Angostura Bitters and stir. I like to throw the already squeezed limes into the jug. I like the pulp of the limes in my juice.

Put the jug of Lime Juice in the refrigerator to chill.
