Iron Pot

Iron Pot - deep potOkay this time the topic is about my cook ware. I use Iron Pots aka Cast Irons Pots. I enjoy using them. My favorite one is the frying pan. I purchase about three iron pots with glass covers, a few years ago. After some time the pot covers fell and broke and now I only have the pots. One of the covers handle became loose and eventually broke off. These tops were made of plastic.

Iron pots are very durable. Another great thing that I like about these pots, depending on the meal I am preparing, I can put the pot in the oven, no worries because the handles are iron as well.

You can not do this if your pot has plastic handle covers. My mother purchased a non stick pot sets when they just came out on the market. It was quite expensive and she still has them. Again the only thing with these pots, they do not have the flexibility to be put in the oven.

Another pot set that I purchased (some years ago) was one called Vision Pots. These were clear bronze looking glass pots. They were pretty but I did not really like cooking in them because my food had a tendency to burn so I had to keep my burner on a low fire. This was not really feasible especially when you want to complete your meal quickly.

Another great use for my favorite iron frying pot, I can prepare my eggs (fried, scramble omelet style), pancakes and Sadha Roti. You will notice that I have taken many pictures of my recipes with this pot so this is proof that I really enjoying cooking with it.

If I am preparing a dish that requires that I use a deeper pot, I use my other deeper iron pots. Since the pot covers are all broken, I use a plate to cover the pots. I would have to go to the store to see if I can purchase the covers separately. One disadvantage of the iron pot (which does not really bother me) it that when it is purchased it is nice and silver but after many usage, the pots get black on the outside. Now I know some people like to display their pots in the kitchen by hanging them on a gadget from the ceiling. You may have to choose another pot set for display. Check out the variety of iron pots in my Webstore (just do a search on whatever you are looking for).
