My husband loves homemade bread and I use to make it regular. It all started when we first met and my bread making was not so perfect. He used to laugh at me BUT he ate the bread.
I tested and tested until I got it right. Since he loves bread so much, when I make bread on Sundays, it is done by Wednesday. I do not have the time to make bread twice a week.
Please note that making homemade bread is quite time consuming, so I would suggest that it done on weekends, if you work during the week.
4 cups of flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoon butter
1 pack instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix them together. Gradually add 1 1/2 luke warm water and mix into the ingredients.
After all the water has been added, use your hands to knead the flour. Check out this cool video that I found that shows you how to hand knead your dough.
After the dough is well kneaded, leave it in your mixing bowl and allow to rise (that is the yeast doing its work). After the dough is risen, I separate it into three balls and let them ‘rest’ for a further 20 minutes.
The next thing that I do is to shape the balls in to bread shape. But before I shape the balls, I grease my bread baking pans with some butter or you can use some Pam non stick spray.
After the dough has well risen in the bread baking pans, set your oven to 350 degrees. When it is nice and hot, place your uncooked bread in the oven.
Let the bread bake for about 35 minutes. They should be nice and golden brown when ready.
