Breads and Bakes
Fry Bake

My husband celebrated his birthday on 28th August, so I woke up around 4:00am to made him a very special breakfast. I did Fry Bake and served it with some cheese. When the bakes are nice and hot and you slice one of them and put a piece cheese .... Yum!!!

Ingredients
3 cups of flour
3 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup olive oil
Method

In a large deep mixing bowl, add all the ingredients and mix together. Gradually add some water and mix into the dry ingredients. When all the flour has mended together, knead the flour for a few minutes. Leave the dough in the pot for about 10 minutes.

Separate the dough into smaller pieces and roll into balls. Put a frying pan on the stove to hot, add some olive oil. Allow the oil to hot. While that is going on, flatten each ball into a circle. When the oil is nice and hot, place the ball, now flatten into a circle, into the hot oil.

You will notice that the bottom side of each bake start to get golden brown, turn them over and allow the other side to get colour. They do not take long to cook.

When all the bakes has been fried and removed from the frying pan, they can be served with a variety of dishes. For example: Avacado Choka, Roasted Tomatoes, Saltfish Buljol, Saltfish Cake, Fried Plantain, just to name a few.
