This is the way my mother prepares her ham for Christmas, it is quite simple actually. The only difference is that
I use a special pot and I do every thing in the oven.
All that is needs is some Cloves, a Enamel Roaster and a piece of ham of course. I really love this Enamel Roaster,
it is a pity that I cannot cook everything in it. Maybe I will do some research on that.
What my mother would do is, put the ham in a large pot of water and put the pot on the stove to bowl for one hour.
Next she would remove the pot from the stove and throw out the water. She will then put the ham in a large deep baking dish,
stick some cloves in the ham and put the dish with the cloved ham into the oven for one hour.
I do basically the same thing but I do everything in the oven with my Oval Enamel Roaster. Okay the first thing
to do is to remove the wrapping from the ham and place it in the Enamel Roaster. Fill the roaster with some water about a quarter full.
Now put on the oven and allow to hot. When the oven is nice and hot, put the roaster with the ham in the oven.
Allow the ham to broil for one hour.
After the hour is up, leave the oven on, remove the roaster from the oven, throw out the water. Stick some cloves
all over the ham and place the roaster with the cloved ham back into the oven. Remember all this time the roaster must be covered.
Leave the ham in the oven for another hour. This time it is to dry up most of the moisture and finish cooking the ham.
It works for me all the time.
The cloves gives the ham a little sweet flavor to the salted ham. Interested in getting one of these roaster, click on
