Pommecythere Chow

In Trinidad and Tobago, this fruit is called Pommecythere and it is internationally known as Golden Apple. The trees grow very large but my mom has a mini tree in her back yard. On this page, there is a picture of her with mini Pommecythere tree just behind her.

Ingredients
5 Pommecytheres aka Golden Apple
2 grains of grated garlic
pepper sauce to taste
1/2 of a lime
2 leaves of shadow benny
salt to taste
black pepper to taste
water

Method
Peel each pommecythere, and make little cuts into them. This will help the salt and other seasonings to soak right through the fruit faster. Place the fruits in a bottle or plastic container, add enough water just to cover them. Add garlic, pepper sauce, lime juice, salt and pepper. Dice shadow benny leaves and add to pommecythere mixture.

Cover the chow and let marinate at room temperature for about 2 days. It is always best to leave out in the sun, so it will marinate much better.
